A review for the development of sustainable design awareness for industrial designer candidates in Turkey

The concept of sustainability was defined as a result of environmental movements arising from environmental problems caused by increasing consumption after the industrial revolution. The concept of sustainability is discussed in different disciplines and product design for a sustainable world is reflected in relevant areas. The main aim of this thesis is to investigate the awareness of industrial designer about sustainable design and is to examine sustainability and sustainable product design. There are negative effects that people create because they want to provide a better living environment, for example; emerged with the industrial revolution, degradation of natural environments, excessive and unconscious consumption of natural resources. As a result of these problems, the decrease in resources started to disappear, environmental pollution increased over time and the increasing environmental problems caused to reach very dangerous stages. Nowadays, innovations and opportunities that emerge with developing technology make our lives easier on the other hand, they have had profound effects on people's lifestyles and have raised social and economic problems. Sustainable development in response to environmental problems should be awareness for all designers. A good design can save the future of the Earth.
