Abstract (EN)

The adventure of dressing, in the first ages started with the instinct to cover and protect. However, it has been later examined according to geographical, scientific, cultural researches and many artistic developments that all has helped in shaping its current form. However, in the historical process, there has been seen many art movements from Romanticism to Postmodernism that have been effective in clothing fashion. In fact, the clothing fashion, which has been constantly changing with art movements from ancient times to the present, has undergone various structural changes. Deconstruction, which shows its effect in fields such as philosophy, linguistics, architecture, sociology and art, has also been an effective method in the field of fashion design in recent years. When the written and visual literature reviews made within the scope of the study are evaluated from this point of view, it is possible to say that deconstructivism, which is thought to have emerged in the 1960s, has been influential in the clothing fashion that has undergone changes since ancient times. In this thesis, the critical discourse of postmodernism in the field of fashion design and the process of the concept of deconstruction, which is a philosophical thought method, are discussed as the interaction of clothing fashion and artistic expression. The textile and fashion industry, which is one of the oldest and largest industries in the world, is known to be one of the most damaging to the environment today. In this scope, in this thesis, the relationship between design, art and sustainability in the textile and fashion industry has been observed in many different types, in many environments and time periods. Original designs were prepared by examining the design elements and principles, the clothing structure features and deconstruction design elements. A ten-piece collection was prepared using inert and waste materials using sawdust and experimental mold systems, and attention was drawn to recycling.
