Abstract (EN)

The emergence of cultural structures belonging to different civilizations makes the concept of tourism a more popular subject today and contributes to the diversification of cultural activities. In this study, the historical religious buildings in and around Krom Valley in Gümüşhane province, which has an important area with its historical quality, were examined. The purpose of choosing religious buildings is that the region has hosted many civilizations and the chapels and churches built in the region by the secret Christian people who make up their ethnic origin. In the temporal process, with the dominance of the Ottoman state in this region, these structures have changed and differed according to religious beliefs. History BC This region, which dates back to 400 BC and has great archaeological importance, has been accepted as a 3rd Degree Archaeological Site. There are 17 registered churches and chapels along the valley, and 7 churches that see each other are examined in the study. Religious structures were evaluated as a result of the examinations, observations and surveys conducted with the people who knew the region and in order to increase the recognition of the region in terms of tourism, solutions were developed and alternative walking routes were proposed on 7 churches. It is thought that this study, which is carried out to evaluate the area in terms of tourism, will increase the recognition of Gümüşhane province and this area with historical value can be a World Heritage site.
