Abstract (EN)

Infertility is the inability to achieve pregnancy despite at least one year of unprotected sexual intercourse. Male factor is involved in half of the couples with infertility problems. 8% of the male factor is seen in azoospermic cases. In these cases, TESE is used to surgically remove sperm from the testicles or any part of the reproductive tract. In some cases, the sperm collected by TESE is immediately used for ICSI, while in other cases it is frozen and stored until the next ICSI. In our study, we retrospectively compared the fertilization and pregnancy status of 223 cases with fresh TESE and frozen TESE. Pregnancy status, ET rate, fertilization, 2pn, ET days were compared. When we analyzed 223 cases that met our study criteria, out of 177 cases (40.1%) in which ET was performed, n=71 had no pregnancy, while (59.9%) n=106 had pregnancy. When we looked at the rates of ET, we found that ET was performed in n=177 of 223 cases (79.4%), whereas ET was not performed in n=46 cases (20.6%). To find the fertilization rates of the 223 cases in our study, 2PN value was examined. As a result, fertilization occurred in (93.3%) n=208 cases, while fertilization did not occur in (6.7%) n=15 cases. As a result of the analysis, there was a significant difference between the type of sperm used and the ET rate (p=0.02; p˂0.05). The ET rate was higher in patients who underwent ICSI with fresh TESE sperms compared to those who underwent ICSI with frozen TESE sperms. There was no statistically significant difference in other variables. As a result, no significant difference was found in terms of variables. However, there was a significant difference in ET rate. It was observed that the ET rate was higher after ICSI with fresh TESE sperm. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of pregnancy.
