The effect of flipped learning on middle school 7th grade students' achievement on work and energy subject and views about the model

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the flipped learning model on the academic success of 7th grade students in science courses and the views of the students regarding the model. The research was conducted with 47 7th grade students studying in a public school in Balıkesir province. In the study, the semi-experimental research model, which is among the quantitative research methods, was used and the students were divided into two groups as experimental and control groups. In the study, there were 25 experimental group students and 22 control group students. An achievement test developed by İpek Akbulut (2013) was used to measure the academic success of the students and to determine the effect of the flipped learning model on academic success. In addition, the views scale prepared by Koçak (2019) was used to determine the views of the students in the experimental group regarding the flipped learning model. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the flipped learning model caused a significant difference between the final test scores of the experimental and control group students and that the difference was in favor of the students in the experimental group. It was also determined that the students in the experimental group developed a positive views about the flipped learning model. Recommendations were made in line with these results.
