Abstract (EN)

This research will go back in history and make a journey from the first actor to the actor today that had evolved since then. Firstly, narrative's place in science and arts will be examined and the core concepts of narrative, semiotics, narrator and narrative theories will be studied. Additionally, this reseach aims to explain the analysis of word, language and text through scientific examples and theories. Since the beginning of the human history there is a narrator in every period that found its audience. Through time, the narrator has improved and formed itself trying many different methods of narration. This study aims to discover this journey of evolution of the narrator/actor. This study will be carried out with narrative in theatre taken as basis. Firstly, as one of the many identities and forms of narrator in general, the place of narrator in theatre will be examined in accordance to the narration and thereby an attempt to determine the position of the actor in contemporary theatre will be made. Also, while attempting to understand the phenomonology of the actor in theatre discipline; an answer to the question whether an actor should be considered a storyteller or not will be searched. This research aims to be both an academic resource for the narrative theatre shows that are common today and in our country, and a guide to those (actors, directors, playwrights) who wish to produce works in this genre.
