Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between attitudes towards violence in societies and the level of alexithymia, as well as traits of narcissistic personality. As narcissistic personality traits are observed, there is an emerging tendency towards violence and increasing level of alexithymia, which is the concept of being inadequate in defining or explaining emotions. The study examines this. There are many forms of violence in the research. Physical, economic, sexual and psychological violence are some forms of violence. Total of 407 people from different provinces of Turkey participated in this research. Within the scope of the research, Demographic Information Form, Attitudes Towards Violence Scale, Narcissistic Personality Inventory, and Toronto Alexithymia Scale were applied. The model of this research is the relational screening model. Data analysis SPSS 24.0 program has been used. It is aimed to make the discussion in light of the findings. In the research, some of the results obtained as a result of the Narcissistic personality inventory score averages; violence, control, abuse, emotion recognition, difficulty in expressing emotions, extroverted thinking, superiority, exhibitionism, authority, exploitation, right claiming and self-efficacy scores show statistically significant differences depending on age. In the research, violence, control, abuse, emotion, extreme extroversion, superiority, exhibitionism, authority, right claiming, exploitation and adequacy scores show statistically significant differences depending on education level. Again in the research, within the Toronto Alexithymia Scale scores, violence, control, abuse, emotion recognition, difficulty in expressing emotions, and self-efficacy scores show statistically significant differences depending on income level.
