Comparison of different doses of remifentanil in trans urethral resection of the prostate and bladder

We compared the optimum of remifentanil and propofol consumption, analgesic, sedative events, vital signs, hemodynamic stability, postoperative recovery and side-effect profile by applying continuous infusion of two different doses of remifentanil between two groups ın transurethral resection of the prostate and bladder. After preoperative preparation, in both groups: after propofol 1 mg/kg+0.25mcg/kg remifentanil induction, propofol 3 mg / kg / h and remifentanil 3 mcg / kg / h infusion was started in a first group of 25 patients and; propofol 3 mg / kg / h and remifentanil 6 mcg / kg / h infusion was started to second group of 25 patients. Before induction (control value), followed by induction and simultaneous infusion every 5 min. Propofol is made in 3 min. 0.4 mg / kg bolus dose, infusion rate has been increased 0.5 mg / kg / h until bispectral index score targeted level (60 to 75) for two groups. When we viewed bispectral index score level under the target values, propofol infusion rate was reduced 0.5 mg / kg / h in 5 min. Remifentanil infusion was not intervene. We determined that less propofol consumption in group 2 according to group1. Although there weren't clinically significant as statistically among patients in Group II, we found that intraoperatively 1,5 and 15 min. SpO2 values as statistically significant higher than Group I. There is not differences for other values between two groups. We found best group 2 that had less propofol consumption and surgery satisfaction.
