Abstract (EN)
As a result of the developing technology and finance sector, the world of economy has become global and the globalizing world has caused risk to become more important for both investors and banks. Some financial products have entered our lives in order to control the exchange rate and interest risk created by globalization and their use has started to increase day by day. Among these financial products, futures, forward, swap, options and other derivative market products have been used for protection, speculation and sometimes arbitrage in underdeveloped markets. As companies, banks and investors reduce their uncertainties for the future by using these tools, their interest in derivatives market products increases both in the world and in our country. In this study, the purposes for which derivative products are used by six banks traded on Borsa Istanbul and what are the factors affecting the use of derivatives are analyzed.
