Abstract (EN)

In a workplace, ergonomics, where occupational health and safety can be assessed in the form of preventive medicine, also allows prevention of serious accidents by simple measures. Although the importance of ergonomics has been recognized and taken up in field applications and theoretical studies, there is currently not enough work in certain areas to elucidate the relationship between ergonomics and occupational health and safety. Therefore, in this research, it is aimed to examine the ergonomics in terms of occupational health and safety in SPA centers which is an increasingly economic sector. In this context, a survey was conducted on 89 SPA center employees who worked in various SPA centers between 25 June and 25 July 2017 in Antalya province and volunteered to participate in the research. The data obtained in the study were analyzed in accordance with the descriptive screening model and the results were reported. According to results of the research in SPA centers; the incidence of muscle and skeletal system diseases associated with ergonomics was found 59%, the heat and humidity balance in the working environment was not achieved in 83%, the inadequate lighting conditions were 60.7%, and the vision problems requiring long-term focus were determined as 41.3%. On the contrary, in the working environment, 13.5% of the scattering rate which restricts mobility is determined as 76% of the education rate in terms of ergonomics and 32.6% in the working environment as disturbing noise ratio in the office workers. Despite training in ergonomics at a rate of 76% in the survey, it is important that the negative consequences of occupational health safety arise. For this reason, the content of the trainings given and the effectiveness of this training are inadequate. At the same time, it is observed that their employers can not fulfill their duties. In terms of occupational health and safety, it is necessary to overcome the shortcomings of such surveys. Key words: Tourism, SPA, Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics
