Abstract (EN)

When we look at the point that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has reached in the field of international politics, it is seen that states other than Turkey do not support a solution to fair sharing. This attitude of theirs pushed the problems on the island of Cyprus to a deadlock, and as a result, the problem has not been resolved until today. It is possible to say that this problem will not be resolved in the coming decades if the parties can not agree on a clear line on this issue. The Cyprus invasion is not an instant decision, but the natural result of a long process. Turkey has always tried diplomatic means from the very beginning until it made a landing, and when there was no hope for diplomacy, an operation was carried out. However, at this point, it can be said that Turkey's desire to solve the Cyprus problem with an operation and its realization is the most important problem that affects the relations between Turkey and the United States of America and continues until today. It has been revealed that the Cyprus Problem, which is discussed within the framework of the nature and historical developments of Turkish-American relations, affects Turkish-American relations as a dependent variable. In this context, the Cyprus Problem, which is an important issue in Turkey's relations with the USA, causes some ruptures and reactions between the relations between the two countries that still continue today. This situation also leads to anti-American reactions among the Turkish public and diplomatic tensions between the two countries. On the other hand, in response to Turkey's desire to protect its own people, the Greeks wanted the entire island to be given to the Greeks and the Turks to be ignored. Britain, on the other hand, focused on the situation of its own bases, while the USA did not want to cause conflict with the two sides, but still followed a pro-Greek policy. In addition, during this period when the cold war continued, concerns arose that a war between two NATO countries would cause cracks in the western bloc. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to reveal Turkey's relations with the USA in the context of its Cyprus Policy.
