Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is intended to determine the teaching approaches and materials used in violin education in TMSC. In the introduction part of the study, an approach in which violin education is carried out with a master-apprentice relationship is seen. Therefore, the information is given that there is no methodical system in Turkish music violin education. In the next stage of the study, subproblems are determined based on the problem situation. In these sub-problems, there are 19 semi-structured interview questions about the approaches of instructors in teaching violin and the materials used in TMSC. These interview questions have been applied to 8 instructors from Yıldırım Beyazıt University Turkish Music State Conservatory, Ege University Turkish Music State Conservatory, Gaziantep University Turkish Music State Conservatory, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Turkish Music State Conservatory, Hacı Bayram Veli University Turkish Music State Conservatory, Sakarya University Turkish Music State Conservatory. In the second part of the study; within the scope of the conceptual framework of Turkish music violin teaching approaches and materials, a literature review on instrument training in Turkish music, some important violin performers in the Ottoman period and Turkish Music State Conservatories is conducted. In the third part of the study; in the light of the answers received from 8 instructors at the Turkish Music State Conservatories where semi-structured interview questions have been applied, their approaches and materials in violin education are determined. At the end of the research, it is concluded that the lecturers in TMSC adopt a student-centered approach and determine the materials used in violin education according to the readiness level of the students. Based on the approach in the violin teaching programs applied in the TMSC. It is also concluded that the initial violin education is from Western music sources and later they switch to Turkish music. Finally, it is determined that the instructors in TMSC transform violin education more systematically from the master-apprentice relationship to the student-teacher relationship with the teaching approaches and materials they use in violin education.
