Abstract (EN)
Humour, which people mostly use in their everyday lives, has become an art form and been introduced into works of arts within various subtitles and subgenres. This genre, which has been in existence in close relation to humankind, maintains its existence even though it sometimes goes into recession over time. Humour, used by artists as a means of defence, has become satire, lampoon, or irony upon society's confusion and despair. As a separate genre, black humour has begun to be seen in different art forms, especially in the last centuries. Black humour, especially in the literary field, has been a genre where artists combine the sometimes humorous, sometimes bitter elements that arise from their emotional and psychological despair. The indifferences, centred around the isolated individual and brought on by corruption and wars, have combined with bitter laughter and created the black humour. The years during which black humour is a subject of controversy, although the exact date of its appearance is unknown, have a recent history. The common point in these discussions is that dark humour has been seen in the works of artists who have been negatively affected by the sociological development and change of society. Seen in different genres and at different times in Turkish literature, black humour has attracted more attention especially in the post-1950 period works. This is also seen as one of the consequences of the change in Turkish literature that began to under modernization. The new techniques and forms the artists experimented within their works and the historical process they lived through led to the emergence of black humour. In the study of black humour in the Turkish narrative from 1950 to 1980, the reflections of these processes on their works, their common features, and examples of the black humour which the artists have occasionally expressed in different ways were examined.
