Abstract (EN)

Television is the most important means of mass communication in our daily lives. The reshaping of television culture, which has a significant impact on people's attitudes and behaviors, also plays an important role in reaching the masses. The most important contribution to this change is undoubtedly the series. The spread of series has brought about many cultural changes, by which young people were the most affected. Young people adopt the new lifestyle they see in the series they watch. The spaces shown in the series, the expensive restaurants, the characters they like, the clothes they wear, the accessories they wear, the luxurious and exaggerated lives shown in the series affect the high school youth who watch these series and play an active role in shaping their personality and identity formation.Consumption is seen as a status, differentiation and a new way of life in society rather than buying an item that is seen or liked especially among young people. In the scope of the research, in-depth interview technique was applied to investigate how young people were affected by television series and how their lifestyles were shaped in the context of consumption culture.
