A study on lexemes of human external body parts in turkish and arabic

This study focuses on lexemes related to external body parts and external organ names, based on the Turkish Dictionary (2019) published by the Turkish Language Association for Turkish, and the Comprehensive Turkish-Arabic Dictionary (2008) for Arabic. To ensure accuracy, two additional dictionaries were also utilized: the Turkish-Arabic Dictionary (2019) and the Turkish-Arabic Dictionary (2004). The names of these external organs and their related lexemes were identified through a review of the mentioned dictionaries. Subsequently, these lexemes were analyzed in terms of their meanings and other lexicographical features. Later, the lexemes in Turkish and Arabic were compared with each other, and the number of headwords in each dictionary was determined accordingly. Based on this, the study sought to answer questions such as which organ names most commonly served as a source for derivational processes, how many lexemes showed parallels in Turkish and Arabic, and which word classes (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.) were most represented in the lexemes. The study concluded with conceptual evaluations based on the lexicological and morphological data of the two languages, as well as the frequencies of these data.
