Abstract (EN)
The labor factor in the economy is one of the most important factors in production. However, it is seen that the labor factor is divided into two as female labor and male labor on the basis of gender, and more male labor is preferred in production. Employment policies based on gender discrimination are generally effective in the preference of male labor in production. In developed and developing countries, the share of women in terms of labor force participation has always been less than that of men. In general, too little or insufficient inclusion of women's labor in production negatively affects the economic growth and development of countries. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the employment of women. In this respect, preventing gender discrimination in women's participation in economic life and increasing their share in employment has a very important place in realizing sustainable development. In the study, the effect of gender-based employment on labor productivity in Turkey will be examined. In the study, by using 1988-2020 annual data for Turkey, the relationship between labor productivity and education and marital status of employed women and men will be handled within the framework of Toda-Yamamoto Causality analysis, and determinations will be made about the effects and direction of these factors on labor productivity. The data of the variables in the study have been obtained from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) electronic database. Keywords: Gender Discrimination, Female, Labor Productivity.
