Performance analysis for innovation anagement of sports federations in Turkey

In this study, carried out for the purpose of determining innovation management performances of sports federations in Turkey, ?descriptive scanning model?, method was used. While establishing theoretical dimension of the study, literature about the subject matter was primarily scanned for creating the basis of the study and further ?questionnaire method? was used as data collection tool in the research.Developed by Technopolis Group and applied in public and private institutions, ?Innovation Environment Questionnaire in Institutions? and ?Institutional Innovation Performance Questionnaire? were applied as data collection tool in the research to 130 managers and 325 employees working in 61 sports federations which are active in Turkey. While assessing the data, Chaid Decision Tree Analysis, Confidence Analysis and Factor Analysis were used besides the definitive statistical methods (average, standard deviation and percentage). The results were assessed within 95% confidence interval and at p<0.05 significance level.According to study results, it is concluded that innovation studies are not sufficient in Sports Federations in Turkey and the working personnel are not adequately informed about this subject matter.The creation of innovation units and the enhancement in cooperative practices with other equivalent organizations in the world are required in consideration of personal and organizational improvements of the personnel in Sports Federations in TurkeyKeywords: Sports Federations, Innovation, Performance.
