Abstract (EN)
The relationship between crime and religion has had a significant impact on people's lives throughout history. Studies on this relationship have yielded both positive and negative findings. This research paper utilized a mixed-methods approach to investigate this relationship. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews using a snowball sampling method, while quantitative data were obtained from the World Values Survey 2019. The results of both the qualitative and quantitative analysis revealed a negative association between religion and social deviance. Furthermore, the study found that this negative relationship persists even among people of different religious and cultural backgrounds. The study highlights the importance of continuing to investigate this relationship and developing strategies to promote social cohesion and reduce social deviance. Overall, the study suggests that religion may play an important role in preventing social deviance, and policymakers should consider this when making decisions that affect society as a whole.
