Abstract (EN)
Drawing on empirical data from seven different cities in Turkey, this study examines the bodily manifestations of irreligion in Turkey and explores the conceptualization of the "secular body". In particular, it focuses on how social, personal and political dynamics shape irreligiosity in Turkey and examines how participants construct their own bodies and how they perceive both religious and non-religious bodies through different contours and findings. The study also focuses on how these bodies make themselves distinct and visible within the social structure.
