Abstract (EN)
Mobbing is a term used to describe a form of offensive behaviour not specified under protected groups based on age, ethnicity, gender by which the object of the mobbing conduct is humiliated and directly or indirectly attacked with the aim to alienate him or her. Mobbing targets experienced anxiety, loss of concentration, frustration, stress, and shows less favorable attitudes towards job, organisation and life.In the first part of the study the meaning of the mobbing has been submitted from many perspectives. In addition to this, some information is given on the reasons of the emergence of mobbing, the levels of interaction, the characteristic features of mobbing, its types and the relationship of mobbing with the other terms, its effects and its consequences.In the second part of the research the emergence of mobbing(bullying) in England, its effects, the examples of mobbing from true life and legal procedure in England are examined in detail. Additionaly, in the second section of the second part, the information about the perception of the term mobbing in Turkey, the examples from true life that is seen important in the circumstance of mobbing and the legal procedure in Turkey is given.Third part consist of the practice that comprise the workers of the supermarkets from the service industry both in England and Turkey. The present research examined similarities and differences between English and Turkish workers? perception and reaction in the situation of mobbing. From both countries participants of diverse genders, ages are asked to fill in the research paper that is prepared to find out the differences of the perceptions and the reactions of workers in the situation of mobbing. The data from the research is analyzed with the program SPSS 13.00. This discussion aims to provide both the employers and employees with an overview but also with specific details to assist with recognizing mobbing and preventing severe harm to employees and organizations.Keywords: Mobbing, Mobbing in Turkey, Bullying in England
