Examining of training program of time limited dynamic psychotherapy in Turkey: A case study

Clinical psychology and psychotherapy are important areas of application of psychology. Individuals who have a mental health problem; psychotherapy treatment because of the low probability of recurrence of the disease and the absence of side effects. Within the last fifty years there has been a rapid increase in the psychotherapy schools. In key meta-analyzes made, it has been proven that Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP) has achieved significant success in treatment. It can be said that the dissemination of the TLDP, which includes dynamic and different psychotherapy practices, is important in our country. In this research, TLDP Training Program participants were examined in the framework of psychotherapists in Turkey and opinions. The research was designed according to the case study in the qualitative research methodology and the opinions of the trainees and psychotherapists were taken with the semi-structured interview form. The obtained data were subjected to content analysis and codes, sub-themes and themes were created. Directly quoted with quotations. As a result of the research, regarding the TLDP training program; the level of achievement of the objectives, the content of the training program, the environment, the documentation and materials, the supervision and the teaching strategies. In the context of the psychotherapist's views, the themes of effectiveness in the treatment, application protocol / framework, clinical intervention preferences / forms, competence and competence, patient's well-being, termination themes have been reached. Participants should be prepared to include case examples of the training program, psychotherapy practices, psychotherapist actions and experiences, education environment, training documentation and educational tools and technologies used accordingly, TLDP is very effective, dynamic psychotherapy, the inclusion of integrative practices, the focus of therapeutic alliance, transference, and new experimentation is high, and the rate of stay in psychotherapy is high.
