A review of agricultural products trade between Türkiye-Russian Federation

The aim of this study is to examine the volume of trade in agricultural products between Turkey and the Russian Federation and its change over the years. Within the scope of the study, both national and international databases were examined, and agricultural trade data of Turkey and Russian Federation were collected. It has been seen that the bilateral relations, which are examined in tables, are affected not only by the commercial but also by the political and political situation. This situation had negative consequences for Turkey in the trade between the two countries and deepened the foreign trade deficit with the Russian Federation. When the agricultural product trade between the two countries is examined, it is seen that the freshest fruit and vegetables and wheat trade are made. Although Turkey produces grain, it is also a common situation that the Russian Federation is an important wheat buyer. From the perspective of Turkey, the Russian Federation is a buyer of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially citrus products. When the recent data are examined, Covid 19 epidemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine have adversely affected both Turkey and the whole world. The Grain Corridor, which was created with the initiatives of Turkey in this global problem, solved the grain problem and positively affected both the diplomatic and commercial relations between the two countries. As a result, it is seen that good bilateral relations are also important for the continuation of the agricultural products trade, which is of great importance between the two countries.
