The continuity of relations between Turkey and Syria: Conflict-detant periods and process of Arab Spring

This study in which the relationship between Turkey and Syria has been mentioned accepts the start of the relationship between them since the Syrian independence day. Concurrently with this temporal restriction, the date brought up as the start point of the relationship was parted suitably according to the periodic structure of the international system. These parts are decided as: pre-cold war time, cold war time and post-cold war time. The reason of such a parting is that the factors that take a role in determining the relation between these two countries shows a parallelism with the existing international system structure on those days.In the study, the relations which was shaped as mentioned above with historic and systematic structure have been tried to be told in two parts. In the first part, the relations have been mentioned after a discrimination named Conflict-Detant Periods. The reason of making such a discrimination is because of the continuation of the relations in a conflict atmospehere since the beginning of them and the ascertainment of collabration in the relations when the detant period emerges in some particular time.In the second part, it has been tried to be mentioned the period of Arab spring which was ascertained of the reason which ends the detant and collabration period and let the relations get back to its usual conflict period as it was in the past and the negative effects of The Arab Spring into the relations have tried to be found. In this context, that the position of the relations go into the detant period from the conflict period, into the conflict period from the detant period again has been tried to be emphasized.As a result, what has been tried to be done in this study is to ascertain the current case of the bilateral realtions and to fix its effect to the continuation of the Arab Spring in Syria.
