Abstract (EN)
Turkish words, which are not roots, are derived from a root via suffixes. Words derived from the same root are called cognates. If cognates are revealed, the whole words that were derived from the known roots will be proved. In this study, cognates of Turkey Turkish have shown through the detectable roots in the oldest inscriptions of Turkish, Köktürk inscriptions. Cognates are shown as clusters with the explanations on their phonetical, morphological, and semantical changes. In the conclusion of this study, numeric data on how many words are derived from the roots in Köktürk inscriptions has shown. The words which are seen in Köktürk, but not in Turkey Turkish have also be listed.
