Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the commercial relations between Turkey and Africa countries. In the past, many African countries have entered a rapid growth process within the framework of an outward-oriented economy, and Turkey-Africa commercial relations have developed continuously in this process. In the empirical study, the causality relationship between exports, imports and economic growth was investigated with the data for the period 1994-2018 for Turkey - Burundi relatıons. According to the unit root test results, it was seen that all series were stationary at the first difference. The results of Johansen's cointegration test showed that there is a long-run equilibrium relationship between exports, imports and economic growth. Since the series are cointegrated, vector error correction model was used to test for causality. According to the Error Correction Model, although there is a causal relationship from economic growth to exports and from imports to exports, there is no causality relationship from exports and imports to growth.
