Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between loneliness and depression and working conditions such as irregularly structured duty hours, long layover periods and consequent disruptions in the biological clock and circadian rhythm disorder. According to the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant moderate positive relationship between flight attendants' depression scores and loneliness scores. There is a statistically significant low level positive correlation between depression scores and 'Recent Weekly Flying Hours' and the result is statistically significant: This study showed that there is a significant moderate positive correlation between flight attendants' loneliness and depression levels and their challenging occupational conditions such as constantly changing flight duty hours that are contrary to human biology, and the obligation to stay overnight away from their families. This finding should be supported by further research with larger sample groups.
