Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the relationship between sociocultural adaptation, psychological resilience and spirituality in international students who came to Turkey for undergraduate education. The method of the research is the correlational research model, one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the research consists of 294 (187 female - 107 male) international students studying at universities in Turkey. Personal Information Form, Sociocultural Adaptation Scale, Brief Psychological Resilience Scale, and Three-Factor Spiritual Well-Being Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. Data were analyzed with independent groups t test to determine differences between groups. Pearson Correlation Coefficient was used for the relationship between variables and regression-based mediation macro (Process Model 4) was applied in the mediation analysis. According to the findings, international university students' sociocultural adaptation, psychological resilience and spiritual well-being scores did not show a significant difference according to their gender. According to Turkish levels, psychological resilience scores did not show a significant difference, but a significant difference emerged in sociocultural adaptation and spiritual well-being scores. Accordingly, those with an advanced level of Turkish have higher spiritual well-being and lower levels of difficulty in sociocultural adaptation than those with an intermediate level. According to the analysis results, there is a positive relationship between spiritual well-being and psychological resilience; Negatively significant relationships were detected between sociocultural adaptation and psychological resilience and spirituality. The mediation analysis result revealed a significant and indirect effect of spiritual well-being on sociocultural adaptation through psychological resilience. The results of the research were discussed and interpreted within the framework of the relevant literature.
