Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to reveal the current situation of Lifelong Learning in Turkey and to discuss the differences and similarities between Turkey and Finland, Portugal, Italy in terms of Lifelong Learning structure, process and understanding. The research was conducted using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods. Thesis, articles written on the subject of lifelong learning and the relevant data of the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation and the European Statistical Office were examined In the selection of the countries to be compared, Fatma Lorcu's study named "Evaluating the Proximity of Turkey and Member Countries in Terms of European Union Education Goals" was used. Twenty-eight European Union countries in the mentioned study constituted the universe of the research. For the sample of the study, three countries, which are the closest, farthest and middle distance to Turkey in terms of education and training, were selected from the universe. Document analysis method was used. According to the findings of the research, Finland is one of the rare countries among the other three countries, to achieve the goals and principles of UNESCO. Although Portugal seems to be the country closest to Turkey in the field of education, it has surpassed our country in terms of quality and quantity. Finland has determined its educational targets for 2035 and has started working on this issue. In Turkey, it's been seen that the studies in the field of lifelong learning are not sufficient in terms of quality and quantity.
