Determining the perceptions of nurses working at the university hospital regarding nursing care behaviors

Nursing care stands out as an important task in terms of multifaceted care of patients. Nursing care includes many aspects in addition to improving the health status of patients, and therefore, a holistic approach to nursing care is required. It is also seen that nurses' perceptions of care behavior have an impact on the care they provide. In this context, it is considered that examining nurses' perceptions of care behaviors is an important research topic.In this context, in this study, it is aimed to determine the views of nurses about care, to examine how they perceive care behaviors and to determine the factors affecting their perceptions and to make suggestions for the development and qualified implementation of care. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to 409 nurses working in the service, unit, intensive care and polyclinics of KTU Health Application and Research Center Farabi Hospital. As a result of the study, nurses' perception of quality of care (Caring Behaviors Inventory (total) 5.09 ± 0.61, assurance dimension 5.18 ± 0.63, knowledge and skill dimension 5.33 ± 0.64, respect dimension 4.99 ± 0.69 and commitment dimension 4.85 ± 0.74) were found to be high. It has been determined that the scores of the nurses regarding the care behavior scale and its sub-dimensions differ according to some sociodemographic variables such as age, gender, length of service, and working conditions.
