Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine certain physical and physiological parameters of the badminton and tennis players who play at college teams and compare the findings. The research group comprises 20 badminton players and 20 tennis players, in total 40 players, who study at the Firat University and also play in the college teams. The youngest of the badminton players is 18 years old and the oldest one is 26 years old; and the average of age is 21.90. However, the youngest tennis players is 19 years old and the oldest one is 26 years old; and the average of age is 23.15. It was determined that the average sports age of the badminton players was 11.80 while the average sports age of the tennis players was 10.50. In addition, it was ascertained that the average height of the badminton players was 174.65 while the average height of the tennis players was 174.30. The average weight of the badminton players was found as 65.77 and the average weight of the tennis players was determined as 68.28. According to the study results, it was not found a statistically significant difference between the right and left handgrip strengths of the badminton and tennis players (p>0.05). However, it was found out a statistically significant difference in the participants' leg strength in favor of the tennis players (p<0.05). When the vertical jump length of the participants was examined, a statistically significant difference was observed (p<0.05). Furthermore, it was not seen a significant difference in terms of the participants' anaerobic strength (p>0.05). It was observed a statistically significant difference between the participants' body fat rate in favor of the badminton players (p<0.05). When the balance parameters were examined, it was determined a significant difference in favor of the tennis players (p<0.05). As the resting and fatigue pulse rate parameter values were analyzed, a statistically significant difference between the sample groups was not found (p>0.05). 't' test was used to analyze the data. Consequently, considering the measured values, it was found out a statistically significant difference in the participants' leg strength and balance values in favor of the tennis players while their vertical jump length and body fat rate values were found statistically different in favor of the badminton players.
