Abstract (EN)
Product design processes and tools used by designers; It is shaped by the effects of developments such as computer aided software, coding technologies and 3D measurement technologies. With these technological developments, product designers transfer their ideas to the computer environment more easily and complex models are created in a shorter time. Designers prepare effective 3D models for advanced visualization and design products that meet the requirements of efficient production with class A surface modeling methods where traditional modeling is not sufficient. However, in today's manufacturing industries, designers are expected not only to form an idea, but also to evaluate all design alternatives. At this stage, many product designers resort to parametric design tools to effectively control the entire design process. By providing dynamic control over complex geometries and components, the parametric design method, which can define and encode relationships between elements, allows designers to control their models over certain variables and constraints. System for discovering product variations, as well as accelerating the design process; It also gives information about the results outside the parameter range determined by the designer. The aim of this study, which is made within the scope of this information, is to obtain smooth surfaces in aesthetic quality with class A modeling and to provide product diversity with parametric design tools of the model created. In the application dimension of this study; surface modeling software Alias and the Dynamo application, which programs the parametric algorithm in the software, are integrated. With this process followed, the conceptual dimension of surface modeling methods in general was investigated, and the advantages and disadvantages of the techniques were examined. With the data obtained, various determinations were made about at which stage of the product design should A-class modeling be applied and the advantages and disadvantages of the parametric method.
