Some pomological and bio-chemical features of local apple genotypes grown in the city of Uşak in Turkey

The current study was conducted to determine some bio-chemical and pomological features of a total of 13 local varieties of apple gathered from different trees which grew naturally in the different regions of the city. In the current study, the following values were obtained for some organic acids; oxalic acid is between 2.89 ppm and 561 ppm; malic acid is between 1725 ppm and 12159 ppm; ascorbic acid is between 29 ppm and 203 ppm.Values obtained in the current study related to some pomological features are as follows; the fruit weight is between 41.244 g and142.424 g; the fruit height is between 39.096 mm and 61.778 mm; the fruit width is between 45.384 mm and70.734; the stem length is between 9.102 mm and 24.188 mm; the shell thickness is between 0.12 mm and 0.16 mm; the fruit hardness is between 2.44 kg/cm² and 5.38 kg/cm²;the fruit seed weight is between 0.026 g and 0.058 g; the fruit seed height is between 6.29 mm and 10.11 mm; the number of fruit seeds is between 2.4 and 10.6; Solublesolidscontent(SSC) is between 9.8% and 17.10% and the pH value is between 4.49 and 5.34.
