Evolcing of recreation resources in Uzungöl district respect to geography

Uzungöl is a touristic district where recreation resources are plenty. The developments realized in the concept of tourism realized in the recent years caused the natural environment to gain importance and allowed their consideration for tourism. Uzungöl therefore has become an attraction center for the tourists thanks to these resources in the district. In order to emphasize the recreation resources in the field of examination first, location, natural environment and humanitarian properties of the district are jointly taken into account and efforts were made to reach resource values. This study lists and evolves the samples of the rural recreation activities where urban people could feel comfortableand have a good spare time in Uzungöl. The landscaping properties, unique architectural structure, natural medium conditions and beautiful views which would create a resource are considered under a touristic design and a -geographical point of view. The most important resource value of our field of study is the Jake bearing the same name. The lake which has the first priority in making the district famous was formed by a landslide. Its view consistent with the environment created daily and seasonal demands and also attracted touristic investments. This study also gives the new activities that would occur by utilizing the infrastructure facilities in addition to Uzungöl's existing recreation resources and their role in the future of the district. Also, the activities to spread the touristic season to whole year rather than restricting them with summer (which is the current case) are also discussed. In our field of study, we suffer environmental problems because of the natural processes as well as human activities. The possible changes imposed by such problems on the natural and cultural values are listed and the propositions to overcome the problems are discussed.Key Words : Uzungöl, Recreation, The Resources, Turism.
