Abstract (EN)

With the disappearance of the Urartians towards the end of the 7th century BC, there is a new era at the same time in the centers of both eastern Anatolia and north-west Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia. This new period, which emerged after Urartu, covers a period covering the beginning of the Achaemenid period. This period seems to be related to the Med culture, which has spread to many parts of Iran and to the interior of Anatolia in terms of its influence and characteristic features of its architecture and ceramics. This new cultural situation, which carries the traces of the Urartian period, differs from the Urartian period due to the differences in its ceramics and architecture. This period called Post-Urartu / Med covers 600-550 BC. The excavations at the Van Lake Mound (IIa-1), Karagündüz (IVc) and Çavuştepe Castle (IIa) are similar to each other and are in harmony with the centers around the culture. As a result of archaeological research, the findings of this period, especially in the Lake Van Basin, Eastern Anatolia Region, Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia, can be supported by stratigraphic data. The post-Urartian / Med Period (600-550 BC), also supported by the surveys conducted in the Van Lake Basin and its immediate surroundings, shows a new cultural formation. In this study, it is aimed to collectively examine the post-Urartian / Med layers that emerged as architectural and ceramic after the disappearance of the Urartians together with the latest studies. The geography reflecting the post-Urartian / Med period, which forms our research topic, has been elaborated with the excavations and researches, partly with the ancient sources, and the findings of this period have been presented. The ceramic forms of this period were compared with the Urartian and later Achaemenid ceramics, and the regions where they were compared were examined separately and the form color and paste characteristics were matched with each other and added to our studies. This study appears to be useful in providing a detailed insight into the findings of the new cultural process encountered during this interim period.
