Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study was to produce and evaluate landslide susceptibility map. For this purpose, the northern part of Van province, which has a relatively higher landslide density, was selected. Elevation, slope, aspect, slope curvature, proximity to main faults, streams power index, land cover, lithology and soil parameters were evaluated according to landslide inventory map and parameter maps were produced. These parameters were produced with the help of field studies and geographical information systems. Then, after obtaining frequency ratios on these parameter maps, a landslide susceptibility map was produced. The landslide susceptibility map prepared by frequency ratio method is divided into 5 classes from very low to very high. The effects of landslide susceptibility on these factors were investigated by producing the data of road network and settlements belonging to the study area. Sensitivity values were high especially in the northern and northwestern parts of the study area. Landslide evaluation must be done before any human activities to be held in these places.
