The obesity tax is applied for the unhealthy food which induces obesity. Fat, soda, junk food and sweet taxes can be considered as types of obesity taxes. Though, the obesity tax has been mostly carried out in developed countries, it has also started as an implementation in developing countries as well. The purpose of this study is being referred as a tax policy tool over obesity tax and implementation figures in OECD countries. Practised obesity taxes in OECD countries are effective on reduction of unhealthy food. In order to be efficient in taxes, public and industry acceptibilities are crucial. OECD reports of Turkey indicate that there is an increase over years. Besides, even the obesity tax hasn't been implemented yet in Turkey, but the result of studies shows it is being supported by the communities. In conclusion, this study depicted in which the taxes are effective for reducing the obesity ,however it is inferred that it is inadequate and should be supported with the policy tools.
