Abstract (EN)

The universe and sample group of this research conducted to examine the professional satisfaction and burnout levels of volleyball referees comprise 275 volleyball referees working in Aydın and Izmir provinces. Within the scope of the study, a personal information form was prepared by the researcher containing the age, marital status, educational status of volleyball referees and questions about refereeing. In addition, to measure the burnout levels of volleyball referees, The burnout scale, developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and adapted to Turkish by Ergin (1993), used the professional satisfaction scale by Kuzgun et al (1999) to determine occupational satisfaction levels. In the study, the data obtained from volleyball referees through the SPSS 26 program were analyzed. Firstly, the skewness and kurtosis values were calculated to determine whether the data showed a normal distribution and it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution. In this direction, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to compare the burnout and professional satisfaction levels of volleyball referees according to demographic characteristics. The Bonferroni test was used to determine which groups the differences obtained in the one-way variance analysis were between. Dec. The "no" answer included in the "loving the profession" variable in the comparisons was not included in the analysis because it contains only 1 element. In addition, since the "age" variable was included as a continuous variable in this study, no comparison analysis was performed, and the relationship between the ages of volleyball referees and burnout and professional satisfaction levels was determined using Pearson correlation analysis. Dec. Finally, Pearson correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationship between the burnout levels of volleyball referees and professional satisfaction levels. Dec. Looking at the findings of this research conducted to determine the professional satisfaction and burnout levels of volleyball referees working in the province of Aydin and Izmir, it was found that the professional burnout levels of volleyball referees working in the province of Aydin and Izmir significantly differ according to age, marital status, reward status variables, experience year, education level, refereeing level, age group of the matches, satisfaction with the fees received, the status of meeting the needs of the fees received, do not differ according to their variables. However, while the professional satisfaction of volleyball referees working in Aydın and Izmir provinces differs significantly according to the variables of age, marital status, educational status, awarding, wages, meeting the needs, it was found that they do not differ according to the variables of experience year, refereeing level and age group status. As a result of the data analysis, it was found that there is a negative and significant relationship between the burnout levels of volleyball referees and their professional satisfaction levels Dec. According to these findings, the burnout levels of volleyball referees affect their professional satisfaction. It has been reached that measures should be taken to reduce the burnout levels of volleyball referees and increase their professional satisfaction.
