Abstract (EN)

The existential psychoanalytic approach is a philosophy that has remained a foreign theory in the literature since it began to gain ground in the world of psychology at the end of the twentieth century and has become popular in the early twenty-first century. Although existential psychoanalysis is a therapy method, we consider it as philosophy since existential psychoanalysts clearly state that they use the views of existential philosophers as the basis for therapy methods. Therefore, the existential psychoanalytic approach can be considered not only as a theory of therapy and analysis but as a philosophy immanent to existence. However, we should note that in our study, the theory in question was addressed within the limits existential psychoanalysts define. In Turkish literature, the existential psychoanalytic approach has not yet been evaluated as a theory. The aim of our study is to examine the novels and stories of Vüs'at O. Bener with the existential psychoanalytic approach and discuss the suitability of the existential psychoanalytic approach to literary criticism. The complex structure in the works of Vüs'at O. Bener and the richness in philosophical inquiries of the characters he created provide a flow that overlaps with the theory of our study. For this reason, Bener's works were taken as the sample in our study. Keywords: Existential psychoanalysis, existential psychoanalytic approach, Vüs'at O. Bener
