Examination of communucation competence in foreign languages according to primary school teachers' views

Language is a powerful tool that allows us to communicate our thoughts, feelings, and ideas with others. Communication competence in a foreign language is an increasingly important skill in our globalizing world. Therefore, it is crucial to understand how teachers view communicative proficiency in foreign languages. This study deals with the communicative competence in foreign languages in the context of teachers' views. The general purpose of the research is to evaluate the competence area of "communication in foreign languages" in the competencies section of the 2018 Life Studies curriculum according to the opinions of classroom teachers. For this purpose, awareness and classroom practices of classroom teachers about gaining communication competence in foreign languages are evaluated. As a result of this research, it is thought that by taking the opinions of teachers about the students' gaining communication competence in foreign languages, suggestions and deficiencies about how and in what way the students can gain this competence in a better way will contribute to the literature. In addition, it is hoped that the results of the research will help teachers, students, parents and others related to the subject. The research is limited to the form teachers working in seven primary schools in the city center of Niğde. The course practices of classroom teachers in the research were examined in terms of communication competence in foreign languages. In this context, the case study method, which is a qualitative research model, was used in the research. Semi-structured interview technique was used to collect the research data.
