Analysis of the effect of investment incentives on provincial economies: The example of Şırnak

Some activities aimed at ensuring, accelerating and stabilizing economic growth and development in Turkey are included in the scope of the incentive. It can be said that the study received significant incentives due to the investment incentive region in which Şırnak province, which was chosen as the application location, is located.The aim of this study is to determine how companies operating in Şırnak province benefit from past and current incentives, how these companies view incentives and what changes occur in their behaviors after using incentives. The questionnaires prepared with 28 companies included in the research were made in the form of direct interviews. Spss22.0 program was used to analyze the data. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that companies benefit from incentives such as investment, employment, export, insurance employer's share support, tax exemption and tax reduction. It has been revealed that the related incentives are mostly used in the fields of production, marketing and qualified workforce. It was observed that there were positive developments in the production amount, product variety and sales of the companies benefiting from the incentives, as well as the number of personnel.
