Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between orthorexia nervosa tendency and cognitive distortion levels in women aged 18-25. In addition, it was investigated whether these variables differed significantly according to sociodemographic characteristics. The sample of the study consists of 411 randomly selected female participants between the ages of 18-25. In the study, the model of relational screening was used. As data collection tools, 'ORTO-11 Scale', 'Thought Traits (Cognitive Distortion) Scale' and 'Sociodemographic Information Form' were used. In the analysis of the data, Hierarchical Regression, Pearson Correlation, Independent Sample T test and ANOVA test were used. As a result of the study, it was seen that orthorexia nervosa and cognitive distortions variables had a statistically significant relationship with each other. Cognitive distortions, personal achievement sub-dimension and BMI variables were found to predict orthorexia nervosa. By examining the variables according to sociodemographic characteristics; It was concluded that the tendency of orthorexia nervosa differed significantly according to the diet program application status, regular sports status and BMI variables, while the presence of psychiatric diagnosis did not differ significantly according to the variables of educational status. While it was concluded that the cognitive distortion level of the participants differed significantly according to the variable of the presence of psychiatric diagnosis, it was concluded that there was no significant difference according to the variables of working status, education status, diet program application status, and regular exercise status.
