Abstract (EN)
In his work named Avasim, Ibn al-Wazir discussed the important matters of debate that taken place between the disciplines of kalam and hadith upon the criticism of his teacher Jamal al-Din Ali. In this work, written in a discussion style, deals with the defence of sunnah and includes theological discussions on hadiths widespread in Zaydi circles. What makes this debate rather significant is that it takes place between Ahl al-Sunnah and Zaydi understanding, which is a moderate branch of Shia, greatly influenced by Mutazila. This study aims to evaluate the defence of sunnah in Ibn al-Wazir's Avasim in the light of hadith and kalam disciplines.
