The role of photography art in the design process, under the influence of new communication media

In today's dizzying world, speed and consumption are controlling our lives in way that is almost out of control. We are witnessing the developments and alterations in the Technology-Science- Art (design) triangle. In this context, the design process has relationship between the development of the technology and the development of art of photography. Especially, this relationship becomes a grid structure. In this reason, it is necessary to review the role of photography. As a design tool camera is the first technological instrument that falls between the observer and the observed. In the analog photography period, there was a chemical process with physical laws. Nowadays, computer technology took a different some alteration. Observation is an action that designer undoubtedly joined in the design process by using camera recording. It can be said that the designer has reconstructed the own dynamics of design action, which is the image resulting and observed by through the photographic image. The examples are given that iconic designers have taken place from the observation and techniques of the abstract thinking by capturing photographic image. In the conclusion section, it will be seen that the concept of photographic thinking play a significant role for the designer who will be able to describe the main idea.
