Neo conservative youth culture "a research on university students in İzmir"

This thesis, tries to deal with the changing concept of conservatism and the foundation institutes of conservatism. In this work, the changes conservatism has experienced- which is called in literature as "neo conservatism- and the reflection of this change is analyzed from the deep perspectives of society. Through the work, the daily life habits of university students in İzmir, tried to examine as part of the mentioning changes. As doing so, we tried to put forward that, the neo conservatism is being integrated with the western values, the new technology, and specially with the comsumption culture. The social changes in the global world, also bring forth the changes in the societies values. University students are the social groups, that adapts these changes in their lives most solidly and fastly. Youth as we understand today, came up as a social class after some social reforms societies get through, such as the urbanization, Industrial Revolution and educational revolution. Countries which have high level youth population like Turkey, youth has a major role both as qualitative and quantative way. That major role, has two reasons; one is because of making up the most part of the population and the other one is, it's the key factor that will elicit the wealth of the society in economics, politics, social and culturel dimensions. In recent years, central right politics that is surrunded all over the world, the conservatist politics which has been applying in Europe and in Turkey, and the intensive consumption behaviours in societies effect the university students perception of life. From this point of view, in this work it's been said that; the neo conservatist ideology has a unique culture and university students represent this culture's values in their daily life practices and future perceptions.
