Abstract (EN)

Energy demand has been increasing by the reason of technological developments and population growth. In the future such an increasing trend is predicted to endure. In order to meet the increasing energy demand, new factors (renewable energy sources) are incorporated in the energy market. Problem becomes complex due to the effect of those factors to the energy market and by the sensitivity of the public to the environmental matters.This dissertation concentrates on the economical contribution of the future use of renewable energy sources by calculating the cost of electrical energy production from solar energy and comparing this with the cost of electrical energy production from other sources; using thelinear reoriented coordinates modeling methodology. In addition, outcomes are compared with examples from Spain and Israel who has remarkable progress in the field of solar energy utilization.Results indicate that, 10% of energy demand in the year 2020 could be met competitively, by the use of solar power plants (built of solar panels) having an output power of 6 kW and 100 MW
