teacher's opinions on new teaching program for 6th and 7th grades' science and techonology course

In the scope of Turkish Republic?s the Minister of National education?s and Training and Teaching committee?s reforms made in 2004, which is prepared by Science and Technology lesson?s Specialization Education commission, this research made to determine general structure, benefits, content, the process of learning and teaching, measure and evaluation of Science and Technology lesson which was applied in 6th class Science and technology in 2006-2007 lesson curriculum and 7th class Science and technology in 2007-2008 lesson curriculum.This research is made with Science and Technology teachers who works in official primary school in European side of Istanbul. The samples of this research is 225 Science and Technology teachers chosen randomly in teachers who are working in primary schools which are located in European side of Istanbul.The datum have been acquired by using survey model which contains 51 questions, which are prepared by Researcher. In the analysis of the investigation the simple statistics techniques and the thematic code approach used to determine the teacher?s opinion on education program by investigating each element of datum from data collections? material.At the end of this research, the teachers have determined that the new educational prograg of 6th and 7th the Science and Technology lesson is clear, intelligible, open to new modern improvements, appropriate to new structural opinion and centered with students. However, there are some negative results come from the survey about the educational program such as the number of activity and the time of lesson are not enough and the classrooms are too crowded. It recommends that the educational program should be reprepared, teachers should get more practising educations about the program, the number of students in the classroom should be around 25-30 students.Key Words: Science and technology, Program developing
