Investigation of the relationship between parental relationship detected in adults and other opinions

This study was conducted to examine the parental attitudes and beliefs perceived by adults and to determine whether they differ according to various variables. The research was carried out on adults in the Sakarya province Serdivan district of Istiklal. The sample of the study consisted of 188 female and 192 male adults totaling 380 adults. This is a descriptive study based on relational screening model. The personal information form developed by the researcher as a measurement tool was developed by Hendrick, Hendrick and Dicke (1998) based on Lee 's (1973) love classification, and adapted to Turkic by Büyükşahin and Hovardaoğlu (2004) Scale: Short Form (LAS) was used. Perceived Parent Relationship Scale developed by Çelik and Öziş (2016) was used to determine perceived parental relationship attitudes. In this study, SPSS Windows 21.0 package program was used in the analysis of collected data with data collection tools. In the research, it was found that there is a relationship between sub-dimensions of parental relationship attitudes perceived by adults and sub-dimensions of love attitudes. Love attitudes were found to be significantly different according to sex, education level, relationship status and cohabitants. It was found that love attitudes did not show any significant difference according to age, mother education level, father education level. The relationship between parental relationships and independent variables perceived by adults was examined. According to this, perceived parental relationship shows a significant difference according to gender, age, education level, relationship status, mother education level and cohabitants. It was found that the parental relationships that adults perceive do not differ according to the level of father education. Findings obtained from the research were interpreted, discussed, suggested to practitioners and researchers.
