The main differences between management and leadership and a study about Atatürk's leadership

Thousands of books have been written on the concepts of leadership and management that have been discussed for centuries, based on a history as old as human history. Today, the concepts of leadership and management are often confused but they sometimes use occasionally synonymous. They are generally close to each other, but they are basically different concepts. The concept of management, which has recently become popular, has left its popularity to the concept of leadership. The qualities of successful leaders have been the subject of investigation and research from the early days of history till today. Since the 20th century, many books have been written on leadership. Because military, politically and economically, it has been widely accepted that leaders have a very important place in success. This important concept of leadership has been explored for centuries. As a result of these researches, many definitions have been made about leadership concept and different leadership approaches have been developed. The main purpose of this thesis is investigating the current leadership approaches from the past to the present,in the light of general information about leadership and management , to reveal the different and similar aspects of leadership and management concepts with each other.Additionally in this study, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish leader who has directed the history of the Turkish nation, based on the basic features of leadership styles ,his leadership characteristics are emphasized that he can be regarded as a great leader by the whole world.
