Analysis of the impact of management information systems, technology, and digital transformation on competitiveness using the value chain method

The increasing prevalence of information technologies both in the institutional field and in our daily life, the emerging information; it requires efficient interpretation, storage and reporting. In particular, it is of great importance for the management level to reach the right information in a timely and error-free way in order to achieve their goals in the shortest way. At this point, it is seen that many businesses are turning to Management Information Systems (MIS). In this study, the effect of digital transformation, technology and MIS usage on the competitiveness of textile companies in Diyarbakır has been examined by the value chain method. According to the results of the value chain analysis, the use of digital transformation, technology and MIS (Management Information Systems) enhances the competitiveness of businesses. During the digital transformation process, businesses' rapid and accurate access to information has positively influenced strategic decision-making processes. Additionally, the use of MIS has optimized operational processes, reduced costs, and increased customer satisfaction. Within the Diyarbakır textile cluster, it has been observed that businesses advanced in digital transformation have increased their market shares and enhanced their innovative product development capacities. In conclusion, the integration of digital transformation and MIS plays a critical role in providing a competitive advantage in the textile sector.
