Abstract (EN)

Occupational health and safety is "systematic and scientific studies aimed at protecting the health of the workplace from harmful conditions caused by various causes during its execution". In today's occupational health and safety approach, it is necessary to determine the sources of the hazards in the environment and to make risk assessment in terms of health and safety of employees, to identify and implement prevention and protection measures, and to inform and educate employees. Chemicals are at the forefront of the factors that affect the health of students and academicians in general chemistry laboratories within the scope of occupational health and safety. Chemistry laboratories are entering dangerous classes as workplaces with NACE code 72.19.01 (other research and experimental development activities in natural sciences and engineering) and they should work with a B class job security specialist. Workers and students in universities' general chemistry laboratories work with many chemicals and are exposed to various risks. Within the scope of this thesis, chemical risks of workers and students in general chemistry laboratories of universities are examined. The chemicals and health effects used in these laboratories.
